Three teenagers have been arrested overnight following a pursuit through the northern suburbs.
Police will allege that about 2.50am Thursday 2 April, a Mitsubishi ute was stolen from the driveway of a home on Peerless Road, Munno Para West.
At around 4.30am, Northern District patrols located the stolen vehicle on Bentley Road, Blakeview and when police attempted to pull over the ute, the driver failed to stop.
The vehicle was pursued onto Main North Road, travelling north before turning onto Dalkeith Road, where it performed a U-turn and headed south on Main North Road. The pursuit continued through the Blakeview area, along Craigmore Road and Park Lane Boulevard.
Police successfully deployed road spikes on Uley Road, causing the ute to slow and come to a stop near Baker Street.
The three occupants fled on foot but were quickly apprehended by patrols following a short foot chase.
The driver, a 14-year-old boy from Munno Para West, was charged with engaging in a police pursuit, illegal use of a motor vehicle, driving without a licence and possessing cannabis. He was granted bail to appear in the Elizabeth Youth Court on 15 May.
The two passengers, a 14-year-old boy from Elizabeth Vale and a 16-year-old boy from Munno Para West, were both charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle. The 16-year-old was granted bail to appear in the Elizabeth Youth Court on 15 May.
The 14-year-old from Elizabeth Vale was further charged with going equipped after being found in possession of gloves and a balaclava. He did not apply for bail and will appear in court later today.
