Police have arrested three men and recovered two allegedly stolen vehicles after an aggravated burglary in Hallam early this morning.
Officers responded to reports of an aggravated burglary at a property on Cardamon Drive about 1.35am.
It is alleged offenders gained access to the address via a garage door, before stealing gardening tools and taking off from the scene in a an allegedly stolen white Toyota Landcruiser.
The Landcruiser was not stolen from the Cardamon Drive address.
No one home at the time of the incident was physically injured.
The Landcruiser was spotted a short time later on the Monash Freeway near Heatherton Road.
The vehicle continued to drive through the Springvale and Noble Park areas, during which time it was driven in convoy with an allegedly stolen Toyota 86.
Both vehicles came to a stop on Norris Court in Dandenong North.
Officers moved in and three men took off on foot.
Three men, alleged to be the occupants of the two vehicles, were arrested after a short foot chase.
There were no injuries.
Both the Landcruiser and the Toyota 86 were recovered at the scene, along with the stolen gardening tools.
A laser printed firearm was seized following a search of the Landcruiser.
A 60-year-old Dandenong North man, a 33-year-old Doveton man and a 34-year-old Hampton Park man will be interviewed by investigators.
Police allege the Landcruiser was stolen from Caufield North in the last few days.
The Toyota 86 was allegedly stolen from a Ferntree Gully address on 11 October.
