Police have arrested three men following an alleged assault in East Melbourne last night., Victoria Police say
Investigators have been told that the two men, aged 61 and 45, were walking along Wellington Parade when they were approached by three unknown men about 12.10am.
A verbal altercation took place and the two victims were allegedly assaulted by the trio.
Two men were arrested in Fitzroy North this evening and a third man was arrested when he presented to Richmond Police Station.
A 27-year-old and 24-year-old, both from Fitzroy North, and a 27-year-old East Melbourne man all remain in custody and are assisting police with their enquiries.
Both of the victims were taken to hospital for treatment following the assault.
