Trio Nabbed for Melbourne Suburb Crime Spree

Detectives from North West Metro Regional Crime Squad have arrested two men and a woman in Moonee Ponds this afternoon following a spate of offending across various Melbourne suburbs.

The trio were spotted travelling in a distinctive grey Mercedes Coupe through Mount Alexander Road towards Queens Park just after 12pm this afternoon.

The Mercedes, which was bearing cloned plates, came to a stop on Murray Street where officers attempted to box the vehicle in to stop it from fleeing.

It is understood the Mercedes reversed, colliding with two police vehicles in the process.

The three occupants attempted to flee on foot but were swiftly arrested.

One officer sustained minor injuries during the arrest.

The Mercedes was searched, and officers located and seized a quantity of methylamphetamine and 1,4-Butanediol, along with over $33k in cash.

The trio, a 36-year-old man from Ascot Vale, a 48-year-old man from Pascoe Vale and a 33-year-old woman from Point Cook, will be interviewed in relation to incidents in suburbs including Armadale, South Yarra, Maribyrnong, South Morang, Campbellfield, Lynbrook, East Melbourne, and Sunbury since July.

The investigation remains ongoing.
