Truck driver charged over fatal crash at Appin, NSW

A man has been charged over a fatal crash at Appin earlier this year, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to Appin Road just after 5.30pm on Monday 21 March 2016, after a refrigeration truck and Holden Cruz collided.

The driver of the Cruz, a 25-year-old Thirroul woman, died at the scene.

The truck driver, a 45-year-old man, was taken to Liverpool Hospital where he was treated for arm and neck injuries.

Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following these investigations, the truck driver was served a court attendance notice last Friday (17 June 2016) for the following offences:

- Dangerous driving occasioning death;

- Negligent driving occasioning death; and

- Not keep left of dividing lane.

The Sanctuary Point man is due to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Monday 25 July 2016.

The man’s licence was suspended.
