A driver will face court after a truck lost part of its load at Para Hills this afternoon.
Police and emergency services were called to the intersection of McIntyre Road and Bridge Road, Para Hills, about 3.20pm on Wednesday 9 September after reports that a truck carrying construction materials had lost its load.
It will be alleged that construction materials being carried on the truck shifted forward and travelled over the truck's cabin, striking two vehicles that had stopped ahead of it. The materials passed over a Nissan SUV before penetrating the rear windscreen of a Toyota SUV in front, narrowly missing the passengers inside.
The occupants of the Nissan were briefly trapped inside their vehicle due to the fallen materials.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
The driver of the truck, a 31-year-old Gawler East man, was reported by officers from the Heavy Vehicle Enforcement Section for a severe risk load restraint breach. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
The Toyota was towed from the scene.
