Local not for profit Community groups and individual artists are invited to submit applications for festivals, creative projects or initiatives which support community health and wellbeing, with Council's grant applications opening for 2022.

Council's Grants for Community provides funding of up to $10,000 for projects being delivered in 2022 across three streams – Arts and Heritage, Festivals and Events and Community Development.

Yarra Ranges Mayor, Fiona McAllister, said Grants for Community provided essential support for community projects, and encouraged anyone with a big idea to apply.

"When planning any event or project, often the major hurdle to overcome – aside from pandemic-related restrictions – is the budget," Cr McAllister said.

"Grants for Community gives so many community events and programs a strong financial base to deliver on projects and the confidence to seek further funding support elsewhere in the community.

"I'm very proud that we've been able to offer these grants – along with our monthly Small Grants and our recent one-off COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Grants – to support our community and help turn interesting ideas into a reality.
