Two assaulted during home invasion - Marayong

Police are investigating a home invasion in Sydney's north-west overnight that saw two men assaulted.

About 9.30pm yesterday (Sunday 16 May 2021), emergency services responded to reports of a home invasion in Junee Street, Marayong.

Police were told two men, aged 26 and 20, were asleep in their bedrooms when a group of six men forced entry.

The men – three of them known to the occupants - were armed with iron bars, a baseball bat and a knife.

The 26-year-old man was assaulted with the iron bar and baseball bat. He was taken to Blacktown Hospital with back and head injuries.

The 20-year-old was struck in the face by one of the men and was treated at the scene.

Quakers Hill Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Officers were told the group left the area in a Dodge Ram and white Audi, which had been parked in the street.

Inquiries continue.
