Two charged after inquiries into trespass, break and enter offences around Kempsey, NSW

Police have put two men before the courts following extensive investigations into trespass, property and DV offences in the Kempsey area, NSW Police say.

Officers from the Mid North Coast Police District have been investigating reports of trespasses, and break, enter and stealing offences at properties in Dondingalong, West Kempsey and South Kempsey last Sunday (4 November 2018).

A utility was stolen from a property in South Kempsey that day, and later used in another alleged break and enter at Dondingalong, 30km south-west of Kempsey, in which televisions and artworks were stolen.

Following inquiries, the utility was found near Burnt Bridge, south of Kempsey, on Tuesday (6 November 2018), and taken for forensic examination.

Inquiries continued and about 11am yesterday (Thursday 8 November 2018), police attached to Mid North Coast Target Action Group arrested a 33-year-old man at a home on Albert Street, South Kempsey.

He was taken to Kempsey Police Station and charged with enter enclosed lands, be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, and aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company/steal.

A second man has been arrested and charged with multiple property offences as well as a domestic violence-related assault after he was also arrested at West Kempsey yesterday.

Officers had also been called to a property at Robert Eggins Street, South Kempsey, earlier the same day, responding to reports of a domestic-violence assault.

Following extensive inquiries, police arrested 23-year-old man at a home on Clarence Ryan Avenue, West Kempsey, about 5.30pm yesterday.

He was taken to Kempsey Police Station where he was charged with common assault (DV), enter enclosed lands, and being carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner. He was also served with an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO).

Both men were refused bail to appear at Kempsey Local Court today (Friday 9 November 2018) where they were granted conditional bail to re-appear in the same court on Monday 17 December 2018.
