Police have charged two men over an alleged use of knives in the public place in Sydney CBD yesterday.
Just after 2.30pm yesterday (Sunday 20 April 2025), officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command and Police Transport Command were called to George Street, Haymarket, following reports of two men allegedly produced a knife in the public place.
Police were told a delivery rider was threatened by two men – both armed with knives – on Liverpool Street, before the two men left the scene towards Haymarket area.
There were no injuries reported due to the incident.
Following inquiries, police arrested two men – aged 19 and 18 – on George Street, Haymarket.
Police also seized two knives for a forensic examination.
They were both taken to Day Street Police Station where they were charged with use knife in public place- cause person to fear for safety.
They were refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Monday 21 April 2025).
