Robbery & Serious Crime Squad detectives have charged two people with their involvement in an alleged staged robbery, which police will allege was an inside job.
About 1.05am on Monday 23 March 2026, police were told an unknown man armed with a screwdriver and wearing a motorcycle helmet entered a licenced premises on Scott Street in Liverpool.
The man allegedly detained the only female employee inside at the time – a 35-year-old woman – and stole an amount of cash before leaving in the woman's vehicle.
Officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene, before the matter was referred to State Crime Command's Robbery & Serious Crime Squad under Strike Force Samonti.
Following extensive inquiries, from about 7am yesterday (Wednesday 1 April 2026), strike force detectives executed three search warrants in Milton, Lalor Park and Kearns.
During the warrants, police located and seized more than $45,000 in cash, electronics, two gel blasters, and a recently purchased Toyota Landcruiser.
At the Milton address, police arrested a man and woman – both aged 35.
They were taken to Ulladulla Police Station where the man was charged with larceny value >$15000, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.
He was refused bail to appear in Bail Division Local Court 3 today (Thursday 2 April 2026).
The woman was charged with steal property as clerk/servant >$15000 and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.
She was granted strict conditional bail to appear in Liverpool Local Court on Monday 20 April 2026.
Police will allege in court the woman was an employee of the hotel and staged the armed robbery with the man who was known to her.
