Two men will face court following an investigation into stolen vehicles in Sydney's south west.
About 11.45pm on Tuesday (26 August 2025), police were called to Denman Avenue, Wiley Park, following reports a black Aprilla motorcycle was seen travelling along the road, after it was reported stolen from a Mascot address earlier the same morning.
The rider was riding alongside another rider, who was riding a Yamaha motorcycle.
A short time later, police arrested a 41-year-old man on Shadforth Street, Wiley Park, and seized the Yamaha, which inquiries revealed was also reported stolen in March 2025.
About 12.40am on Wednesday (27 August 2025), police located the black Aprilia motorcycle abandoned on Paragon Lane, Belmore.
After searching the area, police arrested the alleged rider of the Aprilia motorcycle – a 46-year-old man – walking on Burwood Road, Belmore.
Following further inquiries, police located a vehicle in the garage area of a unit complex on Denman Avenue, Wiley Park, which also had been reported stolen.
About 1.40am, officers executed a search warrant at the address and seized a further eight vehicles which had been reported stolen – four motorcycles, two sedans, a hatchback and a ute, all in various stages of allegedly being stripped and modified.
Various registration plates and spray guns were also found and seized.
Both men were taken to Campsie Police Station where the 41-year-old man was charged with take and drive conveyance without consent of owner and unlicensed for class.
He was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday (27 August 2025), where he was refused bail to appear at the same court on Wednesday 22 October 2025.
The 46-year-old man was charged with possess prohibited drug, stealing, steal motor vehicle, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, goods in custody suspected being stolen, use class B or C vehicle unauthorised number plate affixed, and drive motor vehicle during disqualification period.
He was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday (27 August 2025), where he was granted conditional bail to appear at the same court on Wednesday 8 October 2025.
The Campsie Police Area Command Crime Manager, Inspector Craig Brooks, said the identification of the vehicles was ongoing.
"Specialist officers are working on a forensic analysis of each vehicle to identify the ownership. Once the ownership has been confirmed, police will notify the owners," he said.
