Two charged with street racing, lose licences in THWP

Two men have had their driving licences suspended after they were allegedly caught street racing in Sydney’s west yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 1.15pm yesterday, Traffic and Highway Patrol officers were conducting speed checks at Milperra Road, Milperra when they detected a blue Ford Falcon sedan travelling at an alleged speed of 142km/h in a 70km/h zone.

A red Toyota Camry travelling in a parallel lane was also stopped for allegedly exceeding the speed limit.

Both vehicles were stopped on Henry Lawson Drive and both drivers, aged 25 and 18, were issued with field court attendance notices for street racing and exceed speed over 45km/h.

Both men had their licence suspended on the spot and the owner of the blue Ford also had his plates confiscated for three months.

They will both appear at Bankstown Local Court on 2 November 2016.
