Two Finks OMCG members charged by Strike Force Raptor following search for wanted man, NSW

Two members of the Finks outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) have been charged with various offences after being arrested by Strike Force Raptor, NSW Police say.

Last Friday (13 July 2018), police from Strike Force Raptor’s Fugitive Team were conducting inquiries into the whereabouts of a 29-year-old man, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

While patrolling Belgrave Esplanade, Sylvania Waters, officers located the man standing on the street, and when they approached him, he fled into a nearby home.

The officers gave chase into the home, and the man ran into the yard and jumped the rear fence.

Despite an extensive search of the area – assisted by officers from Sutherland Police Area Command – the man was not located.

While inside the home, Strike Force Raptor located a number of items, which were consistent with a breach of Firearms Prohibition Order (FPO), and about 100 MDMA tablets.

A crime scene was established and shortly after, police executed a crime scene warrant, resulting in the seizure of the MDMA, an electronic control device, an extendable baton, methylamphetamine (ice), steroids, human growth hormones, and 12-gauge shotgun rounds.

During the search, another occupant – a 30-year-old man – was arrested after arriving at the home.

He was taken to Sutherland Police Station and charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug, firearm etc found at premises-subject to prohibition order, and possess prescribed restricted substance.

The man, who is a Finks OMCG member, was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Thursday 16 August 2018.

Following further inquiries, the 29-year-old man was arrested at Parramatta Police Station about midday yesterday (Monday 16 July 2018).

He was charged with the outstanding warrant, acquire ammunition subject to FPO, possess ammunition without permit, possess prohibited weapon, two counts of possess prohibited drug, and possess prescribed restricted substance

The man, who is a Finks OMCG member, was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Tuesday 17 July 2018).

He was also served a Future Court Attendance Notice for traffic offences and is due to appear at Burwood Local Court on Friday 28 September 2018.
