Two Former Statewide Super Executives Acquitted On Charges Of Dishonesty Offences

Two former Statewide Super executives have been acquitted of charges of dishonesty offences following a trial in the District Court of South Australia.

The jury acquitted former Statewide Chief Risk Officer Kieran Francis Netting on 7 October 2025 and on 15 October 2025, former Statewide Chief Financial Officer Grant David Eastwood was also acquitted of all charges.

This matter was prosecuted by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions after a referral from ASIC.

Background

On 9 December 2022, Mr Eastwood and Mr Netting were charged with dishonesty offences related to their procurement of services between February 2019 and December 2019 contrary to ss184(2)(a) and (b) of the Corporations Act (22-350MR).

On 29 February 2024, Mr Eastwood and Mr Netting appeared before the Adelaide Magistrates' Court and pleaded not guilty to all charges. They were subsequently committed for trial in the District Court of South Australia, which was listed for 8 September 2025.
