Two hurt in single car crash at Menangle, NSW

Two men sustained minor injuries after a single car crash at Menangle, south of Sydney, this morning, NSW Police say.

Around 1.10am (Sunday 5 August 2018) a Ford Falcon was detected travelling above the sign-posted speed limit while heading south on the Hume Highway.

It will be alleged the driver of the vehicle did not obey police directions to stop.

A pursuit began and ended when the Falcon crashed into the Partridge VC Rest Area, landing on its roof.

Arriving on scene, one officer has extinguished a fire in the Falcon’s engine bay while the other has removed the driver and three passengers.

Two of the men had minor injuries in the crash while the other two were not hurt.

The 21-year-old driver and injured passenger were taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries and further medical checks.

It is anticipated legal action will be taken against the driver when he is released from hospital.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
