Two injured after multi-vehicle crash in Ryde

A man and a woman have been injured following a multi-vehicle crash in Sydney’s north west, NSW Police say.

About 10:15am (Tuesday 4 December 2018) emergency services were called to a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Church and Junction streets, Ryde.

Police have been told a Hino truck and a black Audi 4WD both travelling south on Church Street crashed.

The truck then hit several vehicles and a bus further down the road.

A second bus was also damaged due to the impact of the crash.

The driver of the Audi, a 55-year-old woman, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital with minor head injuries. She will also undergo mandatory testing.

The driver of the first bus, a 31-year-old man, was taken to Concord Hospital with leg injuries.

Three passengers on the bus were not injured.

The driver of the truck, a 50-year-old man, was not physically injured and returned a negative result to a roadside breath test at the scene.

Officers from Ryde Police Area Command, with assistance from the Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Crash Investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or with dash cam footage of the incident to come forward.
