Two men charged as investigation continues into assault at Gunnedah

Two members of the Gladiators outlaw motorcycle group (OMCG) have been charged as investigations continue into the assault of a man at a licensed premises in the state's north last month.

About 11.30pm on Saturday 27 February 2021, a 29-year-old man attended a hotel on Barber Street, Gunnedah, when he was approached by four males.

During an altercation, the group assaulted the man, punching and kicking him. He was taken to Gunnedah Hospital for treatment to facial injuries.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District attended and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, police arrested a man, aged 26, at a business in Boggabri, about 1.30pm on Friday (5 February 2021). He was taken to Gunnedah Police Station.

A second man, aged 58, was arrested at Gunnedah Police Station, about 11.30am on Saturday (6 March 2021).

Both men were charged with affray and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others.

They have been granted strict conditional bail to appear before Gunnedah Local Court on Tuesday 6 April 2021.

As investigations continue, investigators have released CCTV images of five men who they believe can assist with their inquiries.

The first man depicted is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 25 and 35, about 170cm tall, of a small build, with unshaven facial stubble/ goatee moustache, and dark brown hair. He is shown wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, black jeans, black shoes, black sunglasses and a silver necklace.

The second man depicted is described as being Caucasian appearance, aged between 25 and 35, about 17cm tall, of a medium build, with dark hair, an unshaven beard and moustache. He is shown wearing a navy blue and white long-sleeved flannelette shirt, black undershirt, dark jeans, black shoes, black cap and a silver necklace.

The third man depicted is described as being Caucasian appearance, aged between 25 and 35, about 180cm tall, of a large build, with a brown beard and moustache. He is shown wearing a black t-shirt with an image on the front, khaki knee-length shorts, a red cap and a silver necklace.

The fourth man depicted is described as being Caucasian appearance, aged between 55 and 65, about 180cm tall, of a large build, with grey hair, unshaven grey beard. He is shown wearing a grey coloured T-shirt with a yellow image on the front, blue denim jeans and black shoes.

The fifth man depicted is described as being Caucasian appearance, aged between 25 and 35, about 180cm tall, of medium build, dark coloured hair, unshaven facial hair/stubble. He is shown wearing a black coloured Harley Davidson T-shirt, black cap and silver necklace with tattoos on both arms.
