Two Men Charged for Belmont Attempted Armed Robbery

Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two men following an alleged attempted armed robbery in Belmont yesterday.

A 25-year-old Norlane man and a 21-year-old Corio man have been charged with numerous offences including armed robbery, aggravated burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.

The charges relate to an incident where two men in separate vehicles allegedly approached the victim in his vehicle on Surfcoast Highway near Kidman Avenue about 4.20am on Thursday 4 May.

One man, allegedly armed with a weapon, made demands for the victim's property before both men fled the scene in their vehicles.

The victim was not injured during the incident.

The men have been remanded to appear before the Geelong Magistrates' Court on 5 May 2023.
