Two men charged over serious assault, NSW

Two men have been charged following an alleged assault in the Hills area that left a man with serious injuries.

About 1am today (Saturday 12 January 2019), a 27-year-old man was leaning against a wall outside a hotel on Unknown Soldier Lane, Castle Hill, when he was confronted by two other men.

Following a brief verbal altercation, it is alleged the two men pushed him backwards, causing his head to heavily impact with the wall.

They left the scene and the injured man was taken to Westmead Hospital by ambulance.

He received treatment for skull fractures, bleeding on the brain, and internal injures; but is now in a stable condition.

Following inquiries by officers from The Hills Police Area Command, two men aged 18 and 19 were arrested this afternoon and taken to Penrith Police Station.

Both men were charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and granted conditional bail, to appear before Penrith Local Court on 5 February 2019.
