Two men injured at Smithfield Plains, South Australia

Northern District Police are investigating an incident this afternoon at Smithfield which resulted in two men being rushed to hospital with serious stab wounds.

Just before 4.30pm on Wednesday 26 December, police and ambulance crews were called to Strathaird Avenue following reports of a man being stabbed.

On arrival they located two men known to each other from neighbouring properties both with serious injuries.

A 25-year-old man from Smithfield was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with multiple stab wounds to the chest and neck. His condition is considered serious but not life threatening.

While a 46-year-old man also from Smithfield was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with a serious facial injury.

Northern District Police are investigating the incident and are currently speaking with witnesses and door-knocking the street to ascertain what occurred. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
