Two men rescued after boat washed onto rocks near airport runway

Two men have been rescued after their boat was washed onto rocks near the Sydney Airport runway this morning.

The men called for assistance after their boat struck rocks and was taking on water near General Holmes Drive at Kurnell about 3.20am (Tuesday 5 November 2019).

Officers from Botany Bay Water Police, Sydney South Police Area Command, the NSW Ambulance helicopter, AFP and the airport fire brigade were deployed to the scene.

Shortly after 4am, Water Police took the boat under tow to the Kyeemagh boat ramp.

The men – who were both wearing lifejackets – were not hurt.
