Two Missing in Mid North Coast Floods

Two multi-agency searches are underway this morning for a man and woman missing in separate incidents on the Mid North Coast.

Last night (Wednesday 21 May 2025), a woman was travelling between Armidale and Coffs Harbour when her 4WD reportedly became trapped in floodwaters about 7.45pm on Morora Road, Brooklana, about 30km west of Coffs Harbour.

Officers attached to Coffs-Clarence Police District and NSW SES attended and searched the area; however, they were unable to locate the woman or her vehicle.

The multi-agency search was suspended overnight before resuming this morning (Thursday 22 May 2025) with the assistance of NSW SES.

During the search, the woman's vehicle was located at Brooklana about 10.40am today. Due to the conditions, officers are now working to access the vehicle. Inquiries continue.

In a separate incident, about 9.20pm yesterday, police received a report that a man had failed to return home after walking near a flooded roadway at Nymboida, about 40km south of Grafton.

Officers attached to Coffs-Clarence Police District, NSW SES, RFS and FRNSW attended and searched the area; however, they were unable to locate the man.

The search was suspended overnight before resuming this morning (Thursday 22 May 2025) with the assistance of NSW SES, RFS and FRNSW.
