Two officers injured during arrest near Dubbo, NSW

Two officers have been injured and a man remains under police guard after an arrest in the state’s west yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 7pm (Wednesday 31 October 2018), police were called to a house on Third Avenue, Narromine, about 40km west of Dubbo, after reports of a concern for welfare.

Upon arrival, the two officers, a male Sergeant and female Constable – attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District – were allegedly assaulted by a 30-year-old man.

A struggle ensued to retrain the man until further police assistance arrived.

Both officers were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

The male Sergeant’s hand was significantly injured, and the female Constable sustained lacerations, scratches and a possible concussion.

Investigations into the incident continue.
