Two youths charged after break and enter, motor vehicle offences at Dubbo

Two youths have been charged following investigations into multiple break and enters and car theft in the state's orana region.

About 1am (Sunday 5 January 2020), two youths allegedly forced entry into a house in Huntingdale Close, Dubbo, and stole a handbag containing wallet and car keys.

The owners were home asleep at the time and uninjured.

The youths allegedly stole a vehicle located within the property, which was found abandoned about 4pm on Sunday in Highview Place, Dubbo.

Officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District established crime scenes at the crash site and the home and commenced inquiries.

About 2pm (Wednesday 8 January), a 13-year-old boy was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence, steal motor vehicle, be carried in conveyance take without consent of owner and enter building with intent to commit indictable offence.

About 12pm Friday 10 January 2020, a 15-year-old boy was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence, steal motor vehicle, take and drive conveyance take without consent of owner and enter building with intent to commit indictable offence.

Both boys were refused bail to appear at Dubbo Children's Court on Monday 10 February 2020.
