UK Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron in Ashgabat Visit

British Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

British Foreign Secretary, Lord David Cameron, met with the distinguished leaders of Turkmenistan on 24 April 2024. This included the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedow, the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan and National Leader of Turkmen People, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow; and the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov.

Lord Cameron visited the national Carpet Museum.

Their discussions focussed on deepening the UK-Turkmenistan relationship and collaborating on areas of shared interests such as climate change, citizen's rights, and trade.
