UK-Ukraine TechBridge Board Issues Communique

The Industry Steering Board for the UK-Ukraine TechBridge met on 15 January 2024. The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Minister for Digital Transformation Oleksandr Bornyakov and Minister for Industry & Economic Security Nusrat Ghani.

The Board met on the morning of 15 January prior to the TechBridge launch in the evening. The Board agreed the UK-Ukraine TechBridge's vision of driving collaboration and economic growth across both the UK and Ukraine tech sectors. This will be implemented across trade, investment, innovation and skills pillars. Members agreed to provide advice and offers of support across:

  • Providing business guidance and identifying commercial opportunities
  • Virtual and in-person business networking to improve collaboration and communication
  • Promotion of the UK-Ukraine TechBridge programme
  • Skills training

The co-chairs and members of the Board agreed to supply written updates every 8 weeks. The Board will reconvene in Summer 2024.

The Board meeting coincided with a visit by Deputy Minister Bornyakov to the UK to undertake a series of engagements with TechBridge delivery partners and representatives of the UK tech industry. The programme of engagements related to the implementation of the UK-Ukraine TechBridge, addressing areas including trade, investment, innovation and skills. The Deputy Minister and Minister Ghani announced the formal launch of the UK-Ukraine TechBridge and the establishment of its online portal.
