UNDP and Working Group of Interdepartmental Commission discussed updates to National Human Rights Action Plan

Ashgabat, July 1, 2022: UNDP and the Government of Turkmenistan conducted the roundtable - Updates to the National Human Rights Action Plan in Turkmenistan for 2021-2025.

The roundtable is organized in the framework of the three-year UNDP project: "Assistance in the Implementation of the National Action Plan of Turkmenistan in the area of human rights for 2021-2025" implemented jointly with the Institute of State, Law, and Democracy of Turkmenistan.

The roundtable gathered all members of the Working Group of the Interdepartmental Commission on the implementation of international obligations of Turkmenistan in the field of human rights and international humanitarian law (Interdepartmental Commission). The Working Group discussed suggestions and recommendations of the members of the Interdepartmental Commission for the new National Human Rights Action Plan in Turkmenistan for 2022-2028. As a result of the roundtable, participants prepared the draft of the National Human Rights Action Plan in Turkmenistan for 2022-2028 for the review of the Secretariat of the Interdepartmental Commission.
