UNDP held stakeholder engagement events within project "Response to COVID-19 in Turkmenistan"

Ashgabat, 22-23 June 2022: Within the framework of implementation of "Response to COVID-19 in Turkmenistan" project, funded by the loan from the World Bank stakeholder engagement event was held in the premises of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of Turkmenistan on June 22, 2022. Second event was held on June 23, 2022 at the Hospital of infectious diseases of the Akhal velayat (province).

The events aimed at familiarizing project stakeholders with the project goals and activities and holding consultations to receive feedback and to ensure a successful project implementation, gathered the medical workers who will be on the forefront of response to acute infections in Turkmenistan, including epidemiologists, virologists, specialists on disinfection, lab specialists and the representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan.

Participants noted fruitful and sustainable cooperation between MoHMI and UNDP on strengthening healthcare system of the country. Furthermore, they stressed out the importance of the stakeholder engagement and information disclosure within the "Response to COVID-19 in Turkmenistan" project so that the feedback mechanism is established to ensure a quality project implementation.
