Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, has condemned killing of journalist Jan Mohammad Mahar in the city of Sukkur in Pakistan, on 13 August.

Mahar was a senior journalist and bureau chief at the Kawish Television Network in Sukkur. He was leaving the channel's premises when he was ambushed inside his car and shot multiple times. The journalist died from his wounds in hospital.
