Unit block fire at Elizabeth East, South Australia

Police are investigating a suspicious unit fire at Elizabeth East last night.

Police and fire crews were called to a fire at a block of units in Yorktown Road, Elizabeth East just after 9.30pm on Sunday 23 August.

Police assisted to evacuate several units within the unit block and MFS quickly extinguished the fire.

One unit was extensively damaged by fire, with several adjoining units sustaining smoke damage.

Fortunately, there were no reports of injury. Most occupants were able to return to their units.

Northern District CIB detectives and fire cause investigators attended the scene and are investigating the fire.
