The University of Tasmania is preparing an exciting program to spread the news about innovative and thrilling developments in the field of agriculture at this year's Agfest.
The Rural Youth Agfest agricultural field days will take place on August 24-27, with tickets now available online.
Taking up residence in the University of Tasmania Pavilion, near the Equine and Livestock Expo, the University has planned an action-packed program of talks, demonstrations, in-depth workshops and hands-on activities aimed at showcasing just how much is happening in the state.
From talks on distilling by University business alum Kristy Lark-Booth, through to demonstrations on composting and urban farming by University horticulturalist and community garden coordinator Jeff McClintock, there will be something for everyone.
Also on show will be the Mobile Interactive Learning Environment (MILE) Truck, giving visitors the chance to meet with University ambassadors and experience the gaming lab.

The University's Director of Engagement Leanne Arnott said the University was a long-time supporter of Rural Youth and the Agfest event .
"Attending Agfest is an exciting opportunity for our Colleges, Institutes and departments, to demonstrates the impact the University is having on the future of agriculture in partnership with industry," Leanne said.
"Our presence at Agfest this year is all about giving the community even more opportunities to see the skills and knowledge being developed in the state through the comprehensive program of presenters.
"This includes showcasing much of the research happening in regional and rural areas of Tasmania, as well as celebrating our alumni who are taking great strides in their own fields."
In addition to the University of Tasmania Pavilion, the University will also have exhibitor sites featuring the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture, health checks from members of the College of Health and Medicine at HealthStop, as well as a range of cultural displays and activities from the Riawunna Centre team.
Agfest in the Paddock will take place at Quercus Park, 415 Oaks Road, Carrick, on August 24-27 with open hours from 8am-4pm. Tickets are available now at agfest.com.au.
