Professor Michael Goodsite is one of two University of Adelaide researchers recognised at SA's Positive Role Model Awards.

Two University of Adelaide researchers have been recognised as Positive Role Models for South Australians on International Men's Day.

Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Operations and Commercialisation) Professor Michael Goodsite and mental health and wellbeing researcher Dr Matthew Iasiello were among the five SA awardees celebrated at the International Men's Day Gala.

Professor Goodsite's contribution to education and research was recognised by the judging panel, including his ability to help students and early career researchers to thrive while also connecting research to real-world challenges.

"I'm honoured to be a recipient of one of five 2025 Positive Role Model Awards in South Australia. As much as I can, I strive to approach life with optimism and kindness - and do my best to be a positive role model. Any positivity I bring is only possible thanks to the incredibly supportive people I'm surrounded by," said Professor Goodsite.

"I'm truly humbled to be included among those recognised for being a positive role model. Here's to lifting each other up and making our workplaces and communities brighter."

Dr Matthew Iasiello was also recognised for his efforts to make wellbeing accessible to all, including support for people living with incurable cancer.

The Positive Role Model Awards were founded by Professor Raj Shekhawat in 2024 and are designed to celebrate men who uplift others, lead with kindness and create lasting impact through their everyday actions.
