Northern Territory Police have located five youths in relation to outstanding property offences.
Two youths, aged 14 and 12, are alleged to have unlawfully entered a school in Rosebery around 3:30pm and 6:00pm on Monday, 7 May. It is believed they caused $9,000 worth of damage to the location and stole $7,220 worth of iPads and notebooks, Northern Territory Police say.
The incidents were captured on CCTV which resulted in their identification by police.
Police located the 14-year-old male and are yet to speak to the 12-year-old. The 14-year-old is being considered for youth diversion.
In a second incident, two 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old, are believed to have unlawfully entered a school in Berrimah on Monday, 28 May. It’s alleged they caused considerable damage and stole $7,300 worth of electronics.
On Saturday, 1 June, one of the youths is believed to have posted several iPads for sale online.
As a result, police executed a search warrant and located some of the items stolen from Berrimah.
On Monday, 4 June, the mother of the 16-year-old and the three youths attended to Casuarina Police Station with additional stolen items.
All three youths were considered for youth diversion. The two 15-year-olds were diverted for trespass and stealing. The 16-year-old was diverted for receiving stolen property and possess stolen property.
