Unlawful entry in Alice Springs 14 August

Northern Territory Police are investigating the unlawful entry of two licensed premises in Alice Springs earlier this week.

Police responded to a report in which three youth forced entry and stole a quantity of alcohol from a licensed business on Gap Road at 11pm on Wednesday.

Around 4:30am on Thursday police crews and a K9 unit responded to a report of intruders on scene at a licensed premises on Barrett Drive.

Two of the offenders fled the scene while a 16-year-old youth was arrested nearby.

Police investigations continue into whether the two incidents may be linked.

An internal review is being conducted after a 26-year-old man, who was determined not to be involved in the offending, received a leg injury from a police dog during the police response.
