Unlawful Operation Of Off-road Motorcycles At Moranbah

Moranbah Police have charged 6 people with 12 traffic-related offences over the past three months following a targeted enforcement operation into ongoing trailbike offending within the Moranbah area.

Operation Whiskey Gage commenced in July 2025, with the aim of disrupting high-risk traffic offending and anti-social behaviour.

Moranbah Station Officer in Charge Senior Sergeant Adam Dyer said motorcycle rider safety and the safety of all road users continues to be a strong focus for Moranbah police.

"Everyone plays a part in ensuring our roads are safe," said Senior Sergeant Dyer.

"Riders of trailbikes are among our most vulnerable road users, along with pedestrians, cyclists and e-scooter riders, and can be seriously hurt in a crash."

"Particularly with Motorcycle Awareness Month throughout October, our officers will continue to be out on the roads encouraging safer driving and working together with all road users to reduce the number of lives lost and serious injuries."

Police are appealing to anyone who may have information or dashcam or CCTV footage of motorcycle offending to come forward.
