Unlawful use of motor vehicle charges at Townsville

Police have charged a teenage male with multiple offences including the assault of a child during a car theft in Pimlico on February 26.

It will be alleged, a male located a white Holden Commodore with the engine running on French Street around 3.20pm. The male got in the car and began to drive away before forcing the passenger, a nine-year-old girl, out of the vehicle.

Other alleged offences include a burglary at Mariners Drive, Townsville City on February 16 where a Hyundai Kono was stolen and a Toyota Hilux was stolen during a burglary at Beatrice Street, Aitkenvale on February 25.

A 14-year-old Vincent male has been charged with three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts each of burglary and attempted burglary and one count each of common assault, dangerous operation motor vehicle, unlicensed driving, stealing and possess tainted property. He has been refused bail and is due to appear in Townsville Childrens Court today (March 3).
