Unlawful use of motor vehicle charges, Woolloongabba

Police have arrested and charged two teenage boys following a series of alleged property and traffic offences that took place between Eight Mile Plains and Woolloongabba yesterday.

Police will allege that around 1.45am, two silver Mercedes-Benz cars and a white Toyota Landcruiser were stolen during a burglary at Sungold Place, Eight Mile Plains.

A short time later, one of the stolen Mercedes-Benz, a silver hatchback, was involved in a crash on Victor Street.

The offenders left the area on-foot before police arrived.

Around noon, the stolen Landcruiser was seen by police on Compton Road, Calamvale.

Police used unmarked vehicles and Polair to monitor the vehicle as it was driven into Brisbane City and then back southbound on the Pacific Motorway.

While stopped in traffic on the motorway at Woolloongabba around 1.30pm, police quickly established a cordon and arrested the two male occupants without incident.

Both teens have been denied police bail and remanded in police custody until their appearance in the Children's Magistrates Court.

It will be further alleged that the teens were involved in a burglary that took place on Bordeaux Street, Eight Mile Plains earlier today, as well as the theft of a Honda hatchback from an address on Lamona Circuit in Sunnybank overnight.

A 15-year-old Rocklea boy has been charged with:

• One count of attempted burglary

• One count of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence

• Two counts of burglary and commit indictable offence

• Two counts of receiving tainted property

• Two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

A 17-year-old South MacLean boy has been charged with one count each of:

• Burglary and commit indictable offence

• Attempted burglary and commit indictable offence

• Enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence

• Receiving tainted property

• Unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Police are appealing for any information regarding the location of a silver Mercedes CLS400 2015 model with Queensland registration MBZ07, and a Honda Civic 2012 model with Queensland registration 976XRM.
