Unlawful Use Of Motor Vehicle Chargesin Brisbane Region

Police have charged a 23-year-old man after a stolen Audi was tracked across Brisbane on April 18.

It will be alleged at 11pm, police tracked a grey Audi S3 on the Centenary Motorway through Ipswich, Centenary, and Inner West.

The Audi was stolen from a Logan Central address earlier that day.

Police successfully deployed a tyre deflation device, after which the vehicle continued for a short distance before being abandoned at the on-ramp in Milton.

The driver fled the scene on foot into nearby bushland before he was subsequently located and taken into custody without incident.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

A 23-year-old Oakey man has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, evade police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, wilful damage, fraud and driving whilst unlicensed.

He is expected to appear before the Richlands Magistrates Court on 20 April.
