Detectives are investigating a series of incidents including an unlawful wounding, serious assault, unlawful use of motor vehicle, stealing, and break and enters across several Townsville suburbs tonight, Queensland Police say.
Around 7:30pm, officers were called to a residence in Dalrymple Road after a man forced entry and assaulted a male occupant.
The 23-year-old sustained a single stab wound to the abdomen as a result of the confrontation.
He was transported to Townsville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is currently receiving treatment.
The man fled the scene in a stolen Mitsubishi Lancer but was located at the intersection of Hugh and Woolcock streets a short time later after crashing into another vehicle.
A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Townsville Hospital.
Several crime scenes were established with forensic and scientific officers in attendance.
Investigations are continuing.
