Unlawful Wounding, Springfield Central

Police have charged a man following a wounding incident that occurred in Springfield Central yesterday afternoon, July 12.

It will be alleged just before 4.40pm, police were called to a shopping centre on Main Street, following reports two men had been involved in an altercation.

Upon arrival, police located a 57-year-old Ripley man who had been stabbed in the stomach.

He was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.

Following inquiries, police located a 23-year-old man at a Springfield Lakes residence a short time later and took him into custody.

The man has been charged with one count of unlawful wounding.

He is due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court tomorrow, July 14.
