RMIT University has partnered with the Conversation Design Institute to deliver a new industry conversational AI course for Australian learners.
Interacting with a chatbot is now a core part of how most businesses provide customer service. With tens, or hundreds, of thousands of conversations that need to be built by people trained in conversational AI, employers are on the hunt for people with these skills.
In collaboration with the Conversation Design Institute (CDI), RMIT's Centre for Future Skills and Workforce Transformation in the College of Vocational Education (FORWARD) is working to deliver a conversational AI course where content is tailored to meet the needs of Australian students.
The short online course offers a self-paced learning for people of many and varied backgrounds to acquire the essential knowledge and skills for careers in the rapidly expanding field of conversational AI, including the use of ChatGPT and other AI applications.
Dr Peter Thomas, Director of FORWARD, shares that the conversational AI industry is seeing explosive demand for skilled conversation designer from companies in many industries.
"We are excited to partner with CDI to train, upskill and reskill those who want to enhance their knowledge and professional skills in this future-oriented career and help deliver productivity benefits for Australian companies," said Thomas.
Olaf Igesz, founder of the Netherlands-based CDI, adds that there is a huge need for skilled talent in conversational AI, with CDI receiving requests for trained and certified professionals every day.
"By partnering with RMIT we will be able to upskill and reskill the workforce ready for exciting jobs in AI in Australia," said Igesz.
