The Security Council will meet today at 3 p.m. to vote on a draft resolution proposed by the Russian Federation and China to extend the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on Iran's nuclear programme and resolution 2231 (2015) which endorsed it. If passed, the text would delay the reimposition of sanctions on Iran for six months, until 18 April 2026.
