Unsecured load, Bracken Ridge

Police are appealing for the driver of a ute to come forward after unsecure solar panels narrowly missed another motorist travelling on the Gateway Motorway this morning.

A dark coloured Mitsubishi Triton towing a box trailer was heading south when the panels came loose at Bracken Ridge around 10.55am.

It is possible the driver was unaware at the time their load had become detached.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have dashcam footage from the area at the time to come forward.

The motorist travelling behind the ute escaped serious injury.

Police continue to warn all road users that unsecured loads can easily contribute towards a crash, injury or worse by striking another vehicle, motorcycle, cyclist or pedestrian.
