The practical skills of brushing, styling and managing the everyday care of a child's hair can often fall to the mother or woman (female) carer in the family. But more dads and father figures are wanting to, or needing to, take a more active role in sharing this responsibility and wish to build a stronger connection with their child.
Knox City Council has partnered with Inspiring Training Academy to deliver two free separate hands-on hair skills workshops for dads and father figures in Knox to build their confidence with everyday children's hair care
The workshops will be hands-on and will include learning:
- practical tips for brushing, detangling, ponytails, plaits and simple styling
- washing and brushing routines and managing nits and headlice
- using hair tools and basic products
- is suitable for caring for all children with long or short hair.
Dates: Wednesday 25 November or Tuesday 1 December 2026, 7- 9pm
