Update – Arrests over armed robbery in Carrara, QLD

Detectives have charged a man who allegedly pretended to be a customer during an armed robbery in Carrara on April 2, Queensland Police say.

It is alleged during the robbery a man armed with a hammer entered the Elysium Road business and while the store attendant was busy serving a ‘customer’, stole cash and cigarettes.

A 22-year-old man from Merrimac has been charged with armed robbery and is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today.

It follows the arrest of a Rockhampton man who was charged with armed robbery for the same offence and appeared in Gladstone Magistrates Court on April 9. He was remanded in custody and is next due to appear in court on July 31.
