Update on heavy rainfall in Greater Shepparton

Over the past 48 hours we have seen significant rainfall across the region, and the memory of the October floods is still fresh in our minds.

Some road closures may be put in place. We ask road users not to drive through flood waters and to obey any road signage.

Council staff have been cleaning out drainage pits and pipes over the past two days and will continue these efforts going forward as required.

It's important to note that after such significant rain, water recedes at different rates in various areas. To address this, Council is closely monitoring our drainage network and stepping up our maintenance program in the coming weeks. Our aim is to ensure that rainwater recedes quickly, without causing prolonged street flooding.

Residents are encouraged to report any blocked drainage via Council's website. (Select 'New Request', then 'Other' as the request type.)

Emergency services are monitoring conditions. For up to date emergency information follow VICSES on Facebook or download the VicEmergency App.
