The Albanese Government has secured updated bilateral air services arrangements with Indonesia, one of our closest neighbours, and major international markets.
The updated MoU builds on the previous arrangements signed in 2011 and allows for an additional 5,000 seats per week for airlines of both countries.
It also opens additional destinations in Indonesia outside of the traditional locations of Jakarta and Denpasar, including Lake Toba, Borobudur, Mandalika, Komodo and Likupang.
The updated arrangements also allow airlines of both countries to operate services to and from Australia's newest international airport; Western Sydney International.
Increased passenger services to and from Indonesia will be welcome news for Australia's international airlines, airports and holidaymakers.
The Australian Government is supporting travellers, importers and exporters alike through a strong and diverse aviation sector which can meet their needs now, and into the future.
