Castlemaine students now have bigger, better classrooms and school facilities to learn in, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
Minister for Education James Merlino and Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards today visited Castlemaine Primary School to open its just over $500,000 upgrade, which includes larger classrooms and the creation of a new library space.
The upgraded classrooms have been designed to make it easier for students to work in teams and smaller groups, allowing students to share ideas and work more creatively.
A classroom was also transformed into a library space and a new disabled toilet was installed in the main school building.
A total of 100 new schools will open by 2026 under the Labor Government's school building boom, ensuring every child has a great local school and a great start in life.
This building boom will continue over the coming years, with the Government having already appointed builders to start delivering 11 schools across the state that will open in 2020 and 14 schools that will open in 2021.
The Labor Government is building the Education State so that every student can access a great local school and a quality education.
