Construction is underway on the Cheltenham Recreation Reserve playground upgrade. We're creating a larger, more inclusive and nature‑inspired play space shaped by community feedback.
The upgrade includes a custom treehouse, misted water play, climbing tower and slide, swings, spinners and nature‑play elements. We're also restoring the historic steamroller, repurposing the Cheltenham Station down building for shaded seating, refurbishing the public toilet and improving landscaping to enhance comfort and enjoyment.
The playground will be closed for around five months. This upgrade is part of Council's Playground Improvement Plan, delivering high‑quality, accessible public spaces across Bayside.
